Workshop details

The Footwork is deeply embedded in every piece of Pilates apparatus and often are the first exercises we begin with. These foundational connections are then further enhanced, deepened and challenged as we move through the session. We know how important and impactful the strength, mobility and alignment of the foot and ankle are to our whole functional movement and dynamic posture so how can we incorporate more of the footwork into our Mat sessions?

What you will learn:

• Anatomy & physiology of the foot, ankle & lower leg

• Specific exercises created by Joseph Pilates to improve strength and mobility of the foot & ankle

• How to enhance your classes by adding foot & ankle focus to the Mat exercises.

• Use small props to bring additional strength, alignment and mobility to the foot & ankle

• Understand the most common foot & ankle issues and injuries and how to help these conditions.

You need to be a qualified Pilates teacher to attend.
