The Ped-O-Pul is described by Joseph Pilates as the “Ideal Body Perfector and Relaxor” on the accompanying exercise chart. With it’s deceptively simple set up of a tall vertical pole, with a short horizontal pole at the top from which two springs with handles attach, the Ped-O-Pul is thought by some, to be named for the pedalling and pulling actions, as earlier versions had a bicycle seat attached. Others believe it originated from “ped” meaning foot and “pul” from pulling the springs.
